"Lack of understanding, education" some people talk sh ite on here.

It is neither of those, what people hate about homo's is their insecure way they go about being homo's. I'm not talking about what people get up to in their own homes (although I think it's odd), it's the pervs who cottage in public toilets, or the likes of Thatchell who feel the need to tell the planet all about their sexuality. If heterosexual people carried on like this they would be either laughed at or beaten up, FACT

Homo's are not victims, there are gay. They live in a time when they are allowed to be gay so they should keep their oddball acts behind closed doors like the rest of us. Failing that, send Thatchell and that puff from Right Said Fred to my local, we could do with something to do now the hag has taken down the dart board

Its a culture that has always been there but hidden because of religion, what I don't understand is why people want to suppress homosexuals, surely it is healthier for gay and straight people if they felt they could be open about it rather than have to hide it, atleast that way people can be themselves and they don't have to live sham lives where they (men) don't have to feel forced into having the normal wife and kids and then at night go to gay bars, it ruins lives both the gay persons and their partners.

Just let people live and this coming from a person who doesn't agree with the idea of homosexuality but its here its ginger beer so we need to live with it because it is always going to be there, people are still gay at the end of the day so what difference would it make to straight people anyway?

You can't hate homos anyway, George Michael is the gayest one and a top Briton, says it like it is.

I think that hate is a very strong word, especially when it comes to homosexuality. Mainly i think religion and the 'norm' of scoiety has created such hate towards homosexuals. Although we live in a much more understanding and accepting society today, some people will always hate homosexuals either because they are in the closet and could never face coming to terms with their sexuality, or they are just too narrow minded. Its sad but a fact that certian people can't just let others be happy and get on with their own lives.

It's like hate for anything or anyone else...and it's a shame society is like that. Fortunately for homosexuals and lesbians there is a certain level of tolerance, so I guess that's all can be expected.

Some people hate for no good reason, just how they are. Such people can hate more than one thing, and are generally unpleasant.

My view is, even if someone don't like something about a particular life choice or lifestyle, fine - but don't hate them because of it, otherwise what does that say about the 'hater'?

Respect should be made for all choices - so long as you are'nt hurting anyone else.

There is nothing wrong with homosexuality. People hate either what they do not understand, think it's against their religion, or are just stupid. America is idiotic in the things they hate. It's not right to hate someone for their personal choices in life, they should have left it be, and not bring all the "homosexual haters," out to share their idiotic opinion on a subject they should have left alone.

Probably because we have been subjected to centuries of homophobic lecturing from the Christian elite. Homophobia is nothing new. During the witch trials, people suspected of homosexuality were placed in the centre of the wood to help get the blaze going. That is why gay men are still called 'faggots'. Strange but true.

Do people hate homosexuals? No one has ever come up to me to say that they can no longer speak to me or do business with me, or are not able to treat me with respect because I am gay. People in the majority will always have a tendency to mouth off about the minority - that's human nature - but how many people of average intelligence actually hate someone for being gay?

We don't discuss homosexuality freely in public as heterosexuality in public. Plus the media has to sometimes censor certain things if they contain acts of homosexuality. Which is abit ridiculous. This is because they don't want to offend christian belief's in this country.

Also, it's down to us as individuals too. Why do we immediately become incredibly intrigued if somebody is possibly gay?

I think it's just a lack of understanding and education. Most who hate are just ignorant people anyway, regardless of who they hate. Eventually the hate eats them up inside until people wake up to their shallow hatred and they themselves become the ones who are hated. Me, I don't hate anyone there's not enough space in my life to waste it by hating people....now flies and mozzies that's a different question.
