I wouldn't call them conspiracy theories... he was speaking out against the totalitarianism and Stalinism that actually existed in his time, in Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and the USSR under Stalin.

I personally feel that Orwell is possibly the most important author and moralist of the 20th century, and that book in particular, is a masterpiece.

For the Conspiracy Nut, I am not accusing, you would best be served to answer you own question by becoming part of the government and just watching and listening over the next several years. Those who fear something should face what they fear. If their fears are justified, they will soon be aware. If not, then the "Nut" will not spend the rest of his or her life trying to figure out what does not exist. Join up!

Have you actually read 1984? I don't have any idea why you're referring to conspiracy theories -that has nothing to do with the book.
