why do crows or some other birds sitting on high voltage cables don't get shock?

Because the electrical current has to run through you body and too the ground for you to recieve the shock. because birds are only touching th voltage cable and not the ground at the same time they dont reciece the shock

To get zapped you need to close a circuit. You can do this by connecting two wires so that the current goes back to it's source, or by closing a circuit with the ground. Since birds do neither, they don't get shocked.
In addition, why don't their feet feel the current?
Because the current always takes the path of least resistance. The wire is made of copper, the bird's feet of flesh and blood. The current travels much easier through the copper wire than through any ions that might be found in the bird's body.

Technically, if you could jump high enough, you'd be able to hang from an electrical wire, as long as you're touching only one wire, and your shoelace doesn't touch the ground.

The birds have both feet on the same wire.
The electrical resistance for electrons to go up
one leg, through the bird and down the other leg
is huge compared to the almost no resistance to continue
going through the copper wire.

So no current flows through the bird,
and birds are not affected.

Now if they touched a second wire......

Squirrels get zapped when they walk from wire to wire... if they jump they are fine.
