A four-sided shape is rarely a Square. Each corner has its own angle. Each corner is also called a Quadrant The sum of all four is 360 degrees. Basic trigonometry may not be grasped unless Geometry is mastered.

Grasp a cross (on Jesus Christ was crucified) is standing right in front of you, which is made up of at least a vertical and a horizontal elements!

In trigonometry it is mere vertical and horizontal lines which intersects at a point!

You may create a vertical and a horizontal lines on a computer screen (if you have a computer)!

Said two lines creates four quadrants (90 degree zones) around said intersecting origin!

A "right top corner quadrant" of it is very important to learn 'x' and 'y' positive co-ordinates! This is easy quadrant to relate x and y as it involves plus co-ordinates alone! It is usually known as 1st quadrant!

Other three quadrants involves minus co-ordinates which is not that easy to relate mentally!

However 'any line drawn in first quadrant' starting from origin has a "+ x (horizontal)" and "a + y (vertical)" co-ordinates!

Now I have explained a line drawn in first quadrant (which can be regarded as hypotenuse of a right angle triangle) and angle it makes in between horizontal line and hypotenuse is angle theta, (which you hear in trigonometry). Together with hypotenuse, x, y and angle theta a right angle triangle is fixed!

A concerned study of relations/ratios between sides and angles of said right triangle is Trigonometry!

You have rightly stated it as hell (to a beginner) but it is truly a useful manner of relating numbers to needs!

Regards!

a quadrant is 1/4th of a circle

so a quadrant angle = 90 degrees = pi/2 radians

Draw a cross with vertical line AB and horizontal line CD. Interect at O.
Now have 4 quadrants.
Difficult to draw.
SIN |All
---------
TAn|Cos
Shows that in 1st quadrant sin,cos and tan are +VE

If you are in college, drop the class and take statistics instead! Way easier and fullfils the same breadth requirements!
