Everyone needs it sometimes. Even if you're the most confident person on earth and don't care what people say, you still have your moments.
Me, for example, I need constantly a "proof" that I am "good" from the people. I'm trying to change. Actually, I did... but not completely... the process is not over yet...

It depends on what it is. There areas where I know that I am the best, skills that are just second nature to me. Then there things that I'm not used to doing, or only do because I have to. I know that I'm not good at that stuff, so I ask for others' approval.

to be unacknowledged leaves me feeling empty and inadequate when i know in my heart how well i've performed. the reason i'm so in tune with that is that i just wrapped up a 14.5 hour marathon session of DJ/ karaoke hosting FOR FREE at a benefit, and the benefactor barely spoke a word of thanks as i loaded the last of my gig at 2:30 am. 'hey pal, enjoy the $1800.00 i helped raise for ya, huh?'

I used to need validation, but since my divorce I've become so liberated and came out of my cocoon so now I only need to know it.
