how do you put this in scientific notation?

0.076 000 000

I for one know that it isn't 7.6 x 10 to the negative one because that lands up to 0.76 thanks!!

7.6x10 to the -2 power

it would be 7.6 000 000 x 10^-2 because the same number of significant digits would have to be preserved

of course, you can jus write 7.6 x 10^-2 but it wrong in the scientific sense. say you measure to be .0760 km
den it is 76.0 m because you know the 0 with certainity.

(decimal point is moved 2 places LEFT)

7.6*10^-2, all those zero's behind the 6 isnt needed.
