My sister is going to vote Democrat, and she has no reason why. She said the Supreme Court needs balance, I asked her why she thought it was not balanced, she has no reason.
This type of position statement and asking her why went through a lot of the current issues, she had no reason.
So we started asking her where she got the ideas she is promoting, and she said the "news".
My sister has been brainwashed and I do not know how to save her.

the problem with party politics is not democrat or republican. These poltical parties try to take a side on issues like abortion that polarize the general public to avoid the more important problems of the daily running of the country. I think you will find many voters in both parties only have a shallow knowledge about what candidates they are voting for

I'll probably vote Dem in '08 solely based on my opinions of terrorism, economy, healthcare, Iraq, etc. I could care less about abortion. Repub's have dropped the ball on every issue they've faced in the last six years. The "War on Terror" has made us many times less safe than we were on 9/10. We have so many more enemies now than we did on 9/12. The economy is a house of cards, propped up by illegal immigrants, cheap imports, and bonds. Healthcare is a corporate shambles. Iraq is and always was a fiasco.
I'll vote for Ron Paul if he makes it, though. Neither choice is a good one.
Which Republican platform should I support?

Some people have very strong opinions about one subject. I will not vote for a candidate that would support killing a child even if that child has not come out of the womb. but that is certainly not the only issue I would consider.

You are obviously Republican.
This question is rich coming from a supporter of a party that has only single issues, and then they conveniently forget them after being elected.
Or their leading candidate (Giuliani) is more 'Democrat' than the Democrats! Not to mention Romney, with his constant 'flip-flopping'. Now your hopes are on Thompson.
Hollywood (that den of vice you guys so despise) to the rescue, again?
Get used to the idea of having a Democrat President and Congress for a long, long time.

Maybe the questioning is mutual. And by the way, when you're old enough to vote (your writing indicates that you're not yet out of elementary school), you may also question how so many "numbnuts" voted for Bush a second time.
And what are YOUR opinions on how well he's done on terrorism (where's Bin Laden); health care (how many uninsured millions do we have; where are we compared to the rest of the industrialized world?); military and Iraq (how many U.S. soldiers and Iraqi and Afghanistani citizens were killed in the last two days)?

It is your own opinion of who u vote for and how. But to judge the next person is definitely foolish. All I can say is it takes a fool to know a fool.

Hate to break the news but your party has more anti abortion people who are single issue voters. There are a lot of single issue voters and most are the Christian right!
If you knew anything about the issues, in my opinion, you would not be voting Republican!
