I'm looking for the 0-60 and/or 1/4 mile times for third generation camaros, also, which third gen. year would be the fastest? I was thinking an 87 iroc-z with the 5.7L but Idk. Just looking for the times and your thoughts and opinions on the fastest year. Also is it hard to find them with 5 speeds because I really haven't seen many in my searching, thanks!

Well the 87 Iroc Z's Used the L98 5.7 liter. Only had 225 horses and the weight of the car was about 3,600. i am thinking the 0-60 is 6.5 seconds. Ran the quarter in about 15 secs.
To answer your question what was the fastest 3rd gen that had to be the 1992 Camaro z28 with the same L98 block pushing 245 horses with 345 pounds of Torque. 0-60 was about the same as the Iroc Z. As you can see not really that fast better HP. Pontiac had a 3rd gen Firehawk that had 350 horses and 0-60 in about 4.9 seconds only 25 were made.very expensive. It was the fastest 3rd gen F-body production base.

hey man, good to see somebody interested in 3rd gens. i got a 92 rs..v8. its a 305 and i run to 60 in 9 seconds, the motor needs rebuilt tho. so dont worry about that time....my buddy has a 87 iroc. l98 (350) he has full exhaust, tune, new tranny, 10,000 miles on motor, 52mm tb.and a chip, im not sure of his 0-60 time, but its fast as hell. its quick. and for the record. there was never a 350 5 speed camaro produced,... ever!

he runs like 13.4 in the quarter. sure it dont sound fast. but go for a ride, and see for youself

Actually it was the 1968 Camaro 375 hp. 396 (very underated horsepower) would run in the low 12's with headers, close box and 456 gears.
