Nope. It is a big of joke as the "war" on drugs, AIDS, hunger, poverty, etc. It is nothing more than a flashy slogan behind which the government can do all sorts of unethical things. Americans like their things simple. Reality isn't.

Anyone that says the war on terror is wrong, is deeply misguided. The war on terror is not only something that we should want, but something that we need. After 9/11, what on earth did people expect the United Stated to do - sit on its ar*e and do nothing??? Fair enough, the war on terror may have made many mistakes and it may not have gone according to plan, but look at how many lives have been saved and how many terror plots have been foiled as a result???
If you ask me, I would say that that the blame for the war on terror not being fought according to the plan must rest squarely on the old sick looking dog Donald Rumsfield. After 9/11 the USA had a god given golden opportunity to really shape the Middle East according to how it wanted. It caused regime change in Afghanistan, it caused regime change in Iraq, it could have easily moved onto Iran and Syria and other rogue regimes. Poor preparation and planning on the part of Donald Rumsfield caused a state of affairs whereby after saddam's downfall, the country was not secured and stabilised quick enough. Donald Rumsfield's strategy only depended on best case scenarios and did not anticipate unexpected consequences - something which he should have anticipated, being the secretary of defence. As a result insurgency flared up and to this day the US has been unable to free itself from the quagmire.
The USA should just accept that Iraq will become the new vietnam unless the US withdraws it's troops as quick as it can. Otherwise imagine how stupid the USA will look if even in Iraq it ends up having to jump on helicopters from embassy rooftops (just as in Vietnam)....

Bush illegally and immorally invaded a sovereign nation. What he has done and is doing to the Iraqi people by far exceeds anything Saddam could have ever done. He has destroyed their country and started a civil war there. The so called terrorists there are only defending their homeland in the only way they have since they don't have the military, the money nor the weapons the US has.
But, Bush is creating terrorism. So many people hate us now because of what we have done to them and their families that they will gladly die for revenge. It will take years but they are a patient people and they will exact revenge.
If Bush had really been at war on terror he would have gone after Bin Ladin who we know was responsible for 9-11.

It would be very foolish NOT to believe it! This president has screwed up left and right where the military and the wars are concerned but that doesn't mean we should stop going after Osama and make an effort to completely crush Al Qaeda.
Most rational people don't have a problem with going after Osama, they have a problem with the STUPIDITY of going into Iraq when Saddam wasn't near the danger that Osama IS and that going into Iraq has only made Al Qaeda STRONGER.
We need to get our troops out of Iraq, get them some rest and send fresh troops into Afghanistan and Pakistan to kill Osama bin Laden and destroy the heart and headquarters of Al Qaeda.

Yes I do. Moslems have been terrorising innocent Hindus from 750 A.D and it is now the turn of Europeans and Americans.
"All Muslims are not terrorists but all terrorists are Muslims"
Got the point? Think! think! think!

Whatsa matter, did the terrorists get themselves in too deep this time? Are they crying for us to forget all about them? The war on terror will last for years and years. Better keep up your Internet campaign for Ron Paul.
