Danny (a person's name) Hit (to come in contact with) the man (male form of a human being) with the baseball (a game played with a bat and ball between two teams of nine players each on a large field having four bases that mark the course a runner must take to score) bat (a usually wooden implement used for hitting the ball in various games)!

Thats the only meaning I know!

"with the baseball bat" is a prepositional phrase
that can be used like an "adjective" phrase
(to describe the "man" as having a baseball bat)
or an "adverb" phrase to describe "hit"
(how Danny "hit" the man using a baseball bat)

Ruth G is correct. This is an example of a dangling participle.

Another example would be "Joe dropped the vase on his foot and broke it."

Which did he break - the vase or his foot?
