My shift key cover broke and some of my other key covers are wearing out as well. I don't have much money and was wondering how I might can get it fixed inexpensively. Do I just need to call or contact Gateway?

As laptop keyboards are specific to the model you will have to contact gateway. They are more expensive that normal keyboards, so an external USB one would be chaper if you use it at home mainly. If not suitable then ask them for a price, it will a lot less than other laptop repais but not "cheap" as such
