I was shopping on newegg.com and I came across the Athlon X2-3600 CPU. I saw that there were both Windson and Brisbane models, Brisbane being slightly more expensive. What is the difference between the two? My first guess was that they had different wiring or something but I really have know idea.

I doubt you have socket 939 since both of those use socket AM2, not that that has anything to do with the question, but the first guy brought it up.

Windsor processors use 90nm technology while Brisbane uses 65nm. This basically means the Brisbane will use less power and run a little cooler.

Let me guess: You have a 939 socket.

Brisbane has the odd (or fractional) multipliers. You really don't have to worry too much about the names as much as the watts used and its speed.

Just be sure your motherboard's BIOS is up-to-date.

Funny, I was looking at NewEgg's website for AMD processors too.
