My dad is going to help me with the process of buying the car and I don't want him to know about my DUI. Will that come up in the process of buying a new car? Thanks

Not buying the car but definately insuring it. This just happened to a friend of mine and they bought a car no problem--insurance was a big problem.

If your license is suspeneded, heck ya! They check to see that you have a license before driving the car off the lot. This happened to my brother in law (he had 2 DUIs and his license was suspended since he had never gone to the school or court or anything), and they would not let him purchase the car.

If the DUI is just still on your record, but you're going through (or gone through) everything necessary to fix it (meaning that you possess a valid Driver's License), then no.. it's not a problem.

Not in the purchase of the car but it will come up when the issue of insurance comes up. You likely will be financing which means you can't drive the car off the lot without insurance. If you pay cash you can ride, but if you live in a no-fault state (pip state) then insurance again will be a must and you will unlikely be able to drive the car off the lot without it. Sorry.

buying a car is a matter of credit. It may come up when you go to insure the new car. If there is a loan the lender will require full coverage insurance. Your dad will probably find out when he finds out how much the insurance will cost. Unless you pay that all yourself.

I wouldn't think so. The dealers are just out for a sale.

I don't think so, but try to be sober when you're buying it.
