Every time you submit your SAT scores to a college the SAT guys send all your scores that you ever received. The colleges take a look to see what your highest scores were.

Most schools don't have a single cut off number. They want to see whether you did pretty good or pretty badly. And they want to see if the SATs match up more or less with your GPA. If your SAT is way better than your GPA, that's a very bad sign. It means you are a lazy student. If your SAT is much lower than your GPA it means that either the grades in your school were inflated and the school was too easy on you, or else, you arent able to remember what you learned.

Most people, their grades and their SAT more or less match up. Probably the best thing would be if you had pretty good grades and really good SAT. That would be a nice pat on the back.
