What is the best filter to get for a 1 and a half gallon tank? I am planning on getting 2 more AFDs; my other two died of unknown causes : (

Before they died I had a heater set to around 78 degrees, a thermometer, an aquatic plant and an apple snail. I have decided that I need to get a filter because I have realized that AFD food tends to foul up the water. What kind of filter is small enough but works well for a one and a half gallon tank?

The Red Sea nano filter is one of the smallest I've found. I have one on my 2.5 gallon tanks and they do a fairly good job, but the filter pads need rinsed pretty often. They're about 3 3/8 inches wide (8.6 cm).

Well to be truthful your tank is to small for fish! It might work great for your frog and snails...but the only filter I can think that would work would be a sponge filter and at the very most only one fish? You might want to go to a ten gallon tank and even then you would have to do your fresh water changes for your fish...would that disturbed your frog? If you want to go fish, you may want a tank for only your fish...but again I don't know anything about keeping frogs with fish. I do know fish...and the only time I tried snail...I ended up getting rid of them because they have way to many babies and over ran my tank.

What;s AFD? WIthout knowing and assuming it is a fish, I'd say get at least a 5 or 10 gallon aquarium where your fish could be happy and swim.
