It would be a waste of the capabilities of the car.

While Nascar in the WRC would be amusing, I think Nascar at Monaco would be even better.

It would probably be kind of dangerous for both fans and spectators since F1 cars are not optimized to run on an oval. The grooved tires would not be a good thing, and as we saw at Montreal F1 cars don't seem to have the tethers that an IRL car has. Then there's the whole issue of aerodynamics. How would an F1 crew know how to get their down force right for an oval? Cars and pieces of cars might go every which way.

i think so, high speed quick and agile, lots of over taking,
as for cars not being designed for it, the cars for each race or modified for that track, so i don't see that really being a problem, the biggest problem i see is fortitude, how many times have we heard about f1 drivers not doing something because its too dangerous, ive heard schumacher say that he is against high speed ovals because it was too dangerous, of course he also said the same thing about passing on track, if you remember he made most of his passes on pit stop rotation,

further more the biggest hindrance will be Bernie ecclstone,
he will only run the race if the f1 car would be faster than the Indy cars, if you remember at the beginning the season, when they were using the white dots to identify the different compounds, they were going to paint the side walls till bridgestone pointed out that was what champ car did

With the technology and resources available, when (if) F1 hits the Ovals, they will be more than ready to do just the left turns. It wouldnt be interesting, I get dizzy after watching goldfish in a bowl for a few minutes, but would love to see one. Just because the the Spykers would set records that will stand for decades and we wont be seeing much much intrusions from NASCAR fans for quite a while.

Equally interesting would be an IRL, NASCAR or a Champ car in Monaco.

Schumacher winning every year destroyed F1 for me. Now I avoid anything to do with F1 as far as I can, even though his comeback failed miserably and the rules have changed, I dont waste time watching that anymore. The BTCC on the other hand......they beat each other off the track, excellent stuff!

They would obviously be slower than IRL or Cart cars, because they are designed to run on ovals, F1 cars are designed to handle a range of different speed corners. Basically, oval F1 would be absolutely *****, because the only good thing about oval racing is the amount of overtaking, and with F1 cars, overtaking is harder than with indy cars.

no I think it's too dangerous because they already have decided that there will be no more champ car races on oval tracks because one steering mistake and the cars is a mess because it crashes to the wall

I wouldn't mind seeing the USGP be run on the Oval at Indianapolis instead of the half-baked road course we have now.

No. It takes more than 20 cars to have a good race.

No. That would take more of the driver talent factor out of the equation. The only passing would be the leaders lapping cars.
