one kilobyte = 1000 bytes
one Megabyte = 1000 kilobytes
one Gigabyte = 1000 Megabytes
one Terabyte = 1000 Gigabytes.

Literally, 1024- Bytes are counted in twos. Start at 2, and double it, and double, etc. You'll get 1024. It's usually formatted to 1000 MB though.

once it's in the computer it says 958 MB
