15cm^3 of a gaseous element (molecular formula X2）react completely with 10cm^3 of another gaseous element (molecular formula Y3) to produce 30cm^3 of gaseous product. What is the formula of the gaseous product?

There must be twice as many moles of product as reactant (X2), so it's only got 1 x X atom in it: XY.

3 X2 + 2 Y3 -------> 6 XY
