Greenday is a boy-band. Best punk band ever is either the Clash or The Ramones. I'll go with The Clash.

U.K. - The Damned (The Pistols and the Clash are arguably among the best as well)
N.Y. - Ramones (Dead Boys from Clevland are also right up there)
L.A. - Black Flag (The Germs and Weirdos also deserve a mention)
