Yes sir. This man has like a .320 lifetime batting average. Is solid defensively. Has rings. Is not egotistical. What more can one ask for? If I am a sportswriter...Jeter also goes first ballot HOF too.

Derek Jeter is the best shortstop right now, and the most overrated. And this is coming from a Yankee fan. If Jeter played for the Kansas City Royals he would just be an Allstar, but since he's playing for the Yankees he's a God. I think in a few years Jose Reyes will be the best shortstop in the league.

Defensivly no, and offensivly no.
The best and most consistant defensivly if Orlando Cabrerra of the Los Angelos Angels of Anaheim.
Power wise the best hitter is probably Hanley Ramirez of the Marlins (who has speed too)
Contact wise is Jimmy Rollins of the Phillies.
Speed wise is definitly Jose Reyes of the Mets.
Jeter may be the most clutch over the years, but lately I would say the most clutch is Carlos Guillen of the Detroit Tigers, in the playoffs 2006 Guillen was clutch and Jeter wasn't. So no Jeter is not the best Shortstop right now.

yes he his he setes great example everyday playing hard and not playing hurt a great captain is there ant other short stop with 4 ws ,1996 roy and mvp in the all star game and mvp in the ws NO

i like him and he was considered the best player in the AL for 06 and 05. but man dont just rote for the yanks go for ur home no matter how bad they stink.
