You dont always see a "baby" at 7 weeks or a heartbeat for that matter, I know that we didn't with my son, I started spotting at 6 weeks and we just saw a sack with no baby or heartbeat, but 2 weeks later there was the baby and the heartbeat PERFECT! Only the HCG levels can tell if your still pregnant or if you've misscarried!! I wish you the best of luck!

Completely normal. That early into the pregnancy, getting dates by measurements is not that accurate. (I don't care what people say, do the research, measuring for dates is not accurate for another few weeks) They will be trusting your dates on LMP for EDD. It is not abnormal not to see the heartbeat up to 9 weeks or so. It all depends on the equipment used, the tech that is running it and exactly how far along you are. A day makes a LOT of difference.
If you are uneasy, as I am sure that you are, call and try to get another appt in a week or so if you can. A lot of docs won't do another u/s unless necessary. At the next check up, they should be able to hear the HB with doppler. G/L

There's a baby there, not to worry. I'm surprise though that your Health care Professional would do an U/S so early. Right now your baby is smaller than a grain of rice, hence, you can't see the heartbeat. AT about 20 weeks you'll be able to see the heart, face, toes, fingers, maybe even "Peanut" sucking his thumb! I was a high risk pregnancy and I had 4 U/S and each time there was something new and wonderful to see. Congratulations and don't worry he's there.;)

Sorry, this is not normal. A baby's heart is clearly visible (not so much audible) at 4 weeks by ultrasound. Even if you can see the sack, you should be able to distinguish a fetal heart beat. Also, the ultrasound tech is not usually allowed to relay info to the patient. They usually send their findings back to your Dr. and your Dr. will call you with any results.

if you have mmiscalculated your due date and you are not as far along as you think then it may be too early to see a heartbeat. If you are sure of you dates, it may be a blighted ovum, where the egg implants but the baby does not form. ASk your dr for another ultrasound in a week to see if there are any changes. I'm so sorry, but there may be nothing you can do at this point. God Bless you.

My wife and I had a child 1Yr. Ago and we also had our ultra sound at 7wk, dont be fritened about not hearing the heartbeat its not that theres not one, but the heart in that little body is so small it can only put off so much sound, did you Dr. not tell you this. anyway when you go back to your Dr. ask them if they have a divice called a Doppler, I can be used to hear the babys heart, or there is a Doppler you can use at home, its not as good but you can hear it and it has two headphones so that you and your husband or boyfriend or friend can both listen at the same time, we got ours at Wal-Mart for approx. 20.00, Good Luck and stop worring, its not good for you...

I would say no that this is not normal. I have been pregnant 4 times and even when I was having a miscarriage at 6 weeks we got to see a heart beat. What did your doctor have to say about this?Or the ultra sound tech?

Relax and calm down. You cant hear the heartbeat until 10 weeks so the dr will listen then. You can pretty much only see the sac this early. Besides if the dr thought something were wrong he would have told you then..

I just had mine lastnight. I am 7 weeks. I saw the sac, the baby, the heartbeat. You may not see yours yet, the tech lastnight said that was normal if she didnt see it yet. I would definately talk to your doc though to be sure, only he/she can do all the tests needed to be sure. DONT WORRY though because my tech said the worrying can be very hard on the baby. Have faith that everything is ok.

Yes its normal, at 8 weeks i got to see the heart beat. they are suppose to check for fetal heart beats.
Did your doctor do a fast look or did they try to find it in every which way.
Sometimes it wont show only at the right angle at that age.
