Mediocre.
His all times wins just mean he lasted a long time. The COTY 4 times is something, but probably he just got a lot of respect for sticking around so long.

Chuck Knox was a first-rate coach with the Rams (twice), Seahawks and Bills. He wielded these sorry teams into contenders. UNfortunately for him, the teams seem to choke in the post-season, especially the Rams. If you believe that Marty Schottenheimer is a hall of fame coach, then Knox is also.
