BUDPEST or PRAGUE. Hands down, these are the best cities for history, architecture, and culture. And the parties are Poppin'!! UNforgettable

You can easily book some sort of combo trip with these cities, some might include Vienna as well! YOU won't regret it

I adore Italy!!! The country is so beautiful, and the history so interesting, with so much to do and see (and eat & drink!) that I think it is the best. Of all the places I have been, my favorite city in the world is Venice. By day, she is glittering, with gilt and seawater, people and pigeons everywhere. By night, she is intoxicating, listening to the "battling orchestras" while sipping wine or cappucino in Piazza San Marco. I tell people that when I die, my soul will go to Venice, because it is surely heaven!

Florence, home of the Medicis, abounds with art and history. Strolling down a quiet street, I turned a corner and found myself in front of Dante's church! Imagine him coming out of mass and chatting with neighbors before going home. The gelato in Florence is amazing, and of course, you cannot miss David. Perhaps less glamorous but certainly as beautiful are the bronze doors of the Baptistry, of which Michelangelo said, "They must be the doors of Paradise." Shopping on Ponte Vecchio is a must!

Siena appears caught in the Middle Ages. Made up of windy little roads festooned with banners, everything in Siena ends up in the Campo, a shell-shaped piazza that is home to their twice-yearly horse races. Have the Medieval dinner at El Gallo Nero!!

Assisi is so beautiful, you hardly know where to look, not even considering that it was home to both St. Francis and St. Catherine. Damaged by a fatal earthquake several years ago, it has been restored, and you have to have dinner (or lunch) on the terrace at the Hotel Subasio, overlooking the Umbrian countryside.

And of course, the Eternal City, Rome. Every two steps you encounter something historically amazing, and you will walk around mentally pinching yourself to be sure you are not dreaming. Don't forget your three coins for the Trevi Fountain, and look for the cats near the Colosseum!

Oh boy, I also love London, and the island of Bonaire, near Venezuela, is pretty much exactly what you'd want to run away to. I guess you could say I just love to travel!!

For nature and adventure, Norway, New Zealand, Scotland, Canada.
For history: Most of Europe: Almost all smaller towns in England, France, Germany, Netherlands. (If you read Spanish also Spain, if you read Italian or with a good guidebook Italy and so on.)
The former Russian occupied countries are now restoring their treasures and opening their museums, country side has been beautiful all along.
For meeting people: all the world, as long as you are willing to understand their sometimes broken English, or, even better, understand their own language.

In short, travel where you understand the language and beyond that, and listen to the people you meet, and you have a wonderful time.
