About a year ago I had a bad case of constipation and during the "relief", I stressed my anus and tore the skin between it and my vaginal opening. It usually dosnt bother me too much, but when i have a hard stool, sometimes it tears again and stings for a while. Any tips on healing it or easing/preventing pain?

You need to see a doctor. That tear can get infected very easily. I know someone that happened to. Please go.

Drink lots of water and eat more fiber (fruits and veggies). You might also want to try a stool softener. Not a laxative, but a stool softener. They are sold over the counter at the drugstore. It's pretty much a fact of life once you have a fissure that you describe and you usually won't have issues if you keep your bowel movements softer by a proper diet.

Does it bleed all the time? Is it deeper than one layer of skin?
Is it longer than 1/4 inch? If not, you don't need stitches.
What have you tried?
First, drink 1/2 gallon of water a day.
Eat at least 2 fruits, 3 veggies, and 3 whole grain bread/cereal/rice/pasta a day.
Soak in a very warm bath every day until it heals.
If very irritated, use cortisone ointment, or antibiotic ointment.
Use baby wipes after BM; they clean better, and have soothing ingredients.

You're describing an anal fissure. Usually treated with a high fiber diet and stool softener to prevent straining while you move your bowels. And sitz baths of epsom salts along with applications of zinc oxide to promote healing. But the best thing you can do first, is to seek proper medical treatment.

best suggestion i could make is too tell you to visit a doctor because a tear could be more serious than it sounds and could lead to a risk of infection. don't take a chance visit the doctor and he/she could if the tear is okay (not getting infected) and they could possibly prescribe you something to help it heal or ease the pain.

:) That's the funniest question I've seen here!!!!! :)

I would have it sewed. But there is also something called Dermabond that you can use to glue skin together.

www.DermaBond.com

I've heard that super glue works the same but just stings more. But I wouldn't use super glue on a sensitive part like that.

I would be careful not to use too much glue and accidentally glue the whole hole shut. :) ha ha ha!!!!! :)

Because then you'll be full of sh#8t for quite a while!!!
Sorry! ;)

oooh, ouch! I think about all you can do is see a doctor. It does sound like it needs stitched, and like your constipation issues need addressed as well. eat more fiber!

The one thing that helps soften my stools is to have some cashews or honey roasted peanuts. Just make sure you are not allergic to nuts before you eat them.
