Prongs (James) animagus form was a stag. The theory that Crookshanks is an animagus has been discredited by JK Rowling in various website. You might want to check some of them below. The reason that Dumbledore had the invisibility cloak will also be revealed in the last book.
Read any of the below website for more Harry Potter information. I prefer mugglenet.com, but the other two are really good too.

Ummm... It actually does say what Jame's animal form is: He's a stag, same as Harry's patronus. A stag is a deer-like animal so that's where he gets his nickname: prongs, from his antlers.
And JK Rowling has already confirmed that Crookshanks is half-kneezle so he wouldn't be able to be half-kneezle (which only animals can be) and an animagus.
Good idea though but I'm sort of confused as to why you mentioned James' invisibility cloak. Lily and James knew Voldemort was coming to get them so James probably asked Dumbledore to give the cloak to Harry before he and Lily went into hiding. Also, it hasn't been confirmed that Dumbledore gave Harry the cloak. Anyone could have given Harry the cloak.
You should really pay more attention when you read. But I'm guessing you probably just watched the movie and I'm almost positive it does not mention directly that James was a stag.

Sorry but you are a retard
Sirius specifically says
James was a stag
Which is a male deer
Prongs is in representation to the antlers
J.K. has already said that Crookshanks (Cs) isn't an animagus
There is another piece of info that proofs your theory wrong
Cs helped Sirius get Wormtail
If Cs was James then Sirius would have noticed immediately, and James would have shown himself to Harry
Plus James had no reason to hide, so he wouldn't of and he would of taken care of Harry
And Last but not least
THEY FOUND JAMES' DEAD BODY
and my theory about the invisibility cloak is that
Harry and James are both descendants of Godric Gryffindor (GG)
And that the cloak once belonged to GG.
James gave it to Dd before he died (which we know he did, as it says on Dd's note to Harry on Christmas with the cloak)
to keep it save from the hands of Voldemort, considering that all members of the Order knew that Voldemort was making Horcruxes from the Hogwarts founders possessions.
I also believe that GG is still alive in his animagus form as a giant squid living in the lake.
I believe that GG will help Harry find Horcruxes, considering that he knows the other three founders VERY well.

James' animagus was a stage. Which is an adult male deer. That is stated.
Dumbledore had the invisibility cloak because he confiscated from James when James was a student.

That is a very good idea but I have to say that I don't agree with you for one reason because I would say that through out the books crookshanks would be doing a little more to help Harry so someone gets the mysterious idea that it is someone Harry knows..but you haev a great theroy! My friend and I think that in the 7th book Harry becomes the Dark Lord..not like that is going to happen but it is a thought. I have the 7th book ordered and I can't wait to get it in July!

Crookshanks isn't an animagus it's a regular cat. And James' animagus is a stag, which is Harry's patronus.

Not even plausible. Everyone knows via ms. Rowlings sute in the extras sections that Crookshanks is part regular cat and part Kneazle. Not human. Sorry but since Harry is the only living person ever to survive the curse, hus dad can't be alive.

It does say, his animangus is a stag, which is also the shape of Harry's patronus. And Crookshanks isn't Harry's dad, it's actually half Kneazle, something JK Rowling has confirmed...that's why it's so smart.
