Animals DO have fear of death, but maybe not in the same way as humans.

We contemplate the post-death experience or lack thereof. Animals see only the experience of death, and find it to be a bad thing.

The question is not clear. It depends what you mean.

Let me give an example. I'm fairly certain that cows don't spend their time thinking about the meaning of life, and how short it might be, etc etc. But when they are in the abattoir, if they see or hear the cow in front being slaughtered, they are certainly extremely concerned, as they would be if they sensed any impending danger....for this reason, abattoirs try to carefully screen each cow from the next....

We don't really know how animals feel, we can only see what they do. They try to avoid dangers they can recognize, so we can assume that they have a desire to survive. That's an instinct. If you don't survive long enough you won't be able to reproduce and send your genes on to the next generation.

No. They have a strong will to survive, not a fear of death.

Why would they. They live by their instincts, they don't fear, they just live.
