Tomorrow I have to write a 500 word essay on Shakespeares play Macbeth.
I was away in school when we watched the movie and now im trying to understand it so i'll be able to write an essay.
ive read the summaries on the net but just want someone to tell me ive got it right and point out any good quotes that will help with the theme of betrayal.

- Macbeth and Banquo(?) hear the 3 prophecies from the witches. firstly macbeth will be named thane of cawdor then eventually king of scotland
- macbeth is unsure about this until Duncans men tell him he has been named the first one
- tells lady macbeth and she pushes him to murder duncan (king)
- kills duncan unwillingly
- kills banquo because he becomes a threat to having a secure place as king
- lm kills herself (pressumed) because of what she has done (guilt)
- goes to witches - 2 more profs forrest and no one can kill him that born
... cant remember the name but they come with branches from forrest and he kills macbeth - csection

sorry about the last bit - i ran out of space so had to shorten it.

this is the last bit reworded so it will make sense

- m goes to the witches again, this time they tell him nothing can go wrong until burnam wood comes to the castle and that no man born from a woman can kill him
- macduffs army come to the castle hidden beneath branches etc from burnam wood
- macduff beheads macbeth because of he was "untimely plucked from his mothers womb" in other words was a csection was wasnt technically born

For last minute revision so that you can write that paper.

Macbeth shall never vanquished be until Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane Hill Shall come against him. Shakespeare

The first link is all that you need and I would just use that one, the others are included just to verify your research if you need to.

This is basically correct if your notes mean "no man born from a woman can kill him" which still turned out to be true, since he was killed by MacDuff who was ripped "untimely" from his mother's womb [and was not literally born].

The other prophecy concerned "Birnam wood" that rose to the castle Dunsinane, again fulfilling what MacBeth was led to believe was impossible.
