So long as there isn't bright red blood with the cramps, it's okay. Even if there's a bit of red blood, it's still okay.

The cramps are probably just her body responding to the changes in hormones going on as the zygote/embryo starts to make its little 'home' inside of her, and starts (slowly) to develop a placenta. Her muscles are shifting, too. She'll probably feel crampy twinges, aka 'round ligament pain' too. Her body is just getting set to make the enormous changes it's going to go through to support this baby as it develops.

What should she do? Well, warm baths. Relaxation exercises. Get some exercise. Breathe deeply. And just cope ... hate to say it, might not be a good idea to pass this along yet, but ... it's just the beginning!

Best of luck to her, and congrats, great-aunt-to-be!

with my first pregnancy i had cramps sooo bad, worse than any period.. i really thought i was going to get my period.. just the uterus stretching, everything was fine. as long as there is no spotting or bleeding, should be fine.

cramps are normal, its the pain of the uterus growing. If she has any bleeding then you need to be concerned.
