Don't tell her you need to bring a "date", she'll immediately think you're asking her out, instead tell her you need to bring a friend and nobody better than her, your best friend. I'm sure she'll love your invitation.

Good but don't say I need to bring a date but that you can bring one and you thought of her. Your way sounds like you were forced to ask her and I can see you want too. Good luck. Peace And not to worry, your friends and asking a friend is always nice and it dose not mean you're seeking her as a girlfriend. you're both young ,have fun.

You just said you only want to be friends with her and be there for her, but your asking her on a date. Which is it? If she says no, so what stay friends. Move on. Just ask her if she wouldnt mind keeping you company at the wedding>>>>

I think you're reading way too much into the situation. Your email looks fine. Don't worry about all this future stuff so much. You're 17. Have some fun. I hope she says "yes".

It's really a 50/50 chance but you two do know each other for a long time and get along
but you'll never know if you dont try and if you dont try you might regret it

sounds good keep it simple and let her know that instead of a date "date" you'd Rather spend the day with a good friend. and keep it light when she get there don't send any signals you don't want her to take the wrong way ...
