we are both 17
she just broke up with her boyfriend of two years
we are close, but we never hang out and we haven't met each others families.
but we talk constantly and have known each other for 12 years
my moms wedding is in two weeks and i want to ask her to go
im not really worried about asking her
its that if she says no is that gonna make her think different of me
if she says yes is that gonna expand the relationship
i really just want to be friends with her and be there
i was thinking of asking her by saying:
i thought it would be a good time
i have to ask via email
heres what i got:
hey manda. my moms wedding is in a few weeks. i just found out that i need to bring a date. would you like to go with me?
whats your guess? yes or no

Don't tell her you need to bring a "date", she'll immediately think you're asking her out, instead tell her you need to bring a friend and nobody better than her, your best friend. I'm sure she'll love your invitation.

Good but don't say I need to bring a date but that you can bring one and you thought of her. Your way sounds like you were forced to ask her and I can see you want too. Good luck. Peace And not to worry, your friends and asking a friend is always nice and it dose not mean you're seeking her as a girlfriend. you're both young ,have fun.

You just said you only want to be friends with her and be there for her, but your asking her on a date. Which is it? If she says no, so what stay friends. Move on. Just ask her if she wouldnt mind keeping you company at the wedding>>>>

sounds good keep it simple and let her know that instead of a date "date" you'd Rather spend the day with a good friend. and keep it light when she get there don't send any signals you don't want her to take the wrong way ...
