I think this is so sad. People think just to have fun they have to indulge in excessive amounts of alcohol. I really would like to know where this thinking has come from. I can have fun w/o resorting to drinking. There are too many activities for me to do w/o alcohol having to come into the picture.

I can tell that you are very guilty of drinking excessively. I wasnt pushing my "beliefs" onto other people. You didnt understand the question at all! If you like to drink, then fine, thats on you. I dont give a fickle! Its your health and your kidneys that you are screwing up! I dont care what you do! I was just asking a question to the people who DONT drink excessivley to have a good time! I can tell that you are not one of them, are you?

I agree with you fluff.
I don't know why they talk about how much they've been drinking and stuff like that.
I think it makes them feel really cool or something.
I don't drink and I don't mind people that do.
Just not when that's all they talk about, or how much they've had.

I completely agree with you. There are many activities out there that don't involve alcohol. Anyways, driving under the influence is common, which just results in more car accidents. I've always opposed the idea of drinking alcohol (but if some people enjoy it, then fine).

I drink excessively for sure.... But it is not really to "have fun"...
I start drinking sometime during the course of any given day, because there is a craving to do so. Then after I start, I have a hard time stopping. IDK why I start and IDK why I can't stop. I guess I just have an addictive personality in general.
And at this point in time, I can't get ahold of any really good drugs like pot or meth, so I just settle for the legal stuff that comes into my house without my help.... that is alcohol. Yeah, I know I need help. I need help with lots of things, and alcohol addiction is not the least of them
Sooo, what are you addicted to, I'd like to know...?

Sometime, I buy a 12 pack of beer and, it sits in the fridge for several weeks before I have the second one. I don't think that I have to drink to have fun but, I enjoy the flavor of certain beer's so, I also don't believe that if I do, decide to have a drink that I will die.

Right on, I don't drink to have fun either. Well, that's not true
I might have a glass of wine, or a couple corona's if out with friends, or enjoying company at home, to relax, and get a little buzzed. But, I'm not excessive at all

People think they can just drink once and then stop forever. They get addicted and think drinking is a necessity in life. Peer pressure from friends usually is why people start drinking. Advertisements also convince people that alcohol is great and makes people happy.

These are usually the people that are shy or afraid to show their true selves so they need alcohol so that they can relax a little and lose some of their inhibitions. Not condoning the behavior just explaining why...

I think it's because of peer pressure, and you might feel more relaxed if you drink allowing yourself to have more fun. I understand what you mean though. I want to quit drinking forever.

Oh boo frickin hoo!
Remember the golden rule...each to their own. I don't come down on you because you DON'T like to drink so keep your nose out of other people's business OK! If you don't want to do it fine, leave everyone else to get on with their own lives. Pushing your opinions and beliefs on others is oppressive and fascist!
Right...I'm off for a Tequila and a chaser...who's coming..?

Why do people feel they have to dress a certain way to be cool? Why do people feel they have to be in a relationship to feel complete?
Because we are scared, fickle, and desperate creature. We want love, we want attention, we want to feel accepted. We just want to feel like we're a part of something.
