World Cup Final 2007?

I think that I'm little bit late to ask this.
Anyway, do you all think that Sri Lankans were given a fair chance to win the trophy?
1. Because of the bad weather, they could postpone tha match to
the following day.

2.When SL chasing, when the light decreased, they could use D&L method since Ausies had already bowled more than 20ovs.

3.If bad light stopped the match @ that time, SL were ahead of Ausies.

The ICC has agreed that the match officials had made the wrong decisions in that finals.

I know that Australians wouldn't agree with this.

"This Punishment"> is a scripted plan,even before the final was played.That Final was "The Staged Drama" to award Australia the 2007 Cup.Anybody can prove that.

Whilst I am not that happy nesessarily, that Australia has won the World Cup.But I feel for Sri Lanka who never really had a decent chance to chase the Australian's total.
Its a terrible End to a Disappointing World Cup which has done nothing to advance the "Game of Cricket."

I believe, though Australia is fighting unit and would have not beaten Srilanka over 50 overs.
And having the final reduced to 38 overs and then played in the dark was a silly Joke.Both teams should be given a fair opportunity. .
Everybody except ardent supporter of Australia,would have liked to see the match moved to Sunday so that we could have a real game of cricket and not the joke that ensued.

AUS got WC 2007 , but SL played under pressure.When the Final was on the same time Srilankan's Capital city was attacked by Terrorists.
"Kaboom"~Sinister Rain took over the match.
Toss was the most deciding Facter.
Players got the Terrorists- news and Panicked ..

most SL players' kid wives & parents all living in Colombo.
They dont know target & Bad light as well as Rain.
ICC must answer this question. I dont know this stupids why did not call this game to next day or limit to 25 overs.
( In rainy day even kid knows dark will come soon in evening ) Begining ICC has to limit this game to 25 overs or call to next day.

This is the worst game I ever saw. Organisers had no common sense at all. they did according to the "Script" that Somehow or other "Australia must Win"
Lankans were in no need of the "Victory so badly" like Australia.

Sri lankans did not bribe Umpires.They didnot Cheated either.They were honestly deserved bunch of players.

ICC is the worst sport organization at the planet. ICC is corrupted. They have no respect of cricket & cricketers. Their rules of cricket are also dumbiest, specially that damn rule of D/L method. It always goes in the favour of Aussies. Watch the history of World cup from 1999 to 2007. Aussies won the semifinal of 99 against South Africa by D/L . They further won the semifinal of 2003 against Srilanka and now Srilanka again got screwed by the match officals and Aussies won the final against Srilanka by D/L method again. What the hell is that ? The all cricket lovers over the world should protest and even should sue against ICC for the thing like that.

DOWN with ICC !!!! ICC will be Rest In Peace !!!

a .... Rules state if each team faces 20 overs match result can be decided (as per your point 2)
b... At no point after the weather deteriorated after 20 overs were SL in front on Duckworth Lewis
c..The match officials were reprimanded the match in the dark

Well the point is, as you know yourself, it is too late to say anything on the World Cup 2007 finals. All the factors you have mentioned in yr question have been the undoing of the Sri Lankans. Now even if the whole world rises in revolt against the WC'07 finals decisions, nothing is going to change. To add salt to insult, the ICC put the blame of the umpires and the match refree, to say as if they sympathise with Sri Lanka.

True circket lovers would love to never remember the ugliest moment of circket.
The fact is that 2007 world cup finals will always go down as ugliest moment in history of circket for most circket lovers and for few Hippocrates it could be joy.
IAM not a srilankan but this day should marked as the black day in history of circket.
All governing bodies of circket in subcontinent to make sure that the law of circket is the same for whites and us because ICC favors the whites and the rules are against us.
Mate lets make sure that all circketers ware a black band trough out the world every year to mark the ugliest incident of circket the world cup 07 finals.

Yup , it was disappointing to see the way sri lankans lost. Seems this racism and politics is everywhere. I heard news from some where that Mr.Adam Gilchrist used some thing inside his hand gloves to get better grip on his bat. But i really donno why no action was taken on it ?? Asians have always been at the top banning lists for many reasons like over appling (which is fair if Australia does) or ball tampering (also fair for Aussies coz nobody notices).

Anyways nothing gonna change by my comments the only think i can say at the end is BAD LUCK SRILANKA , WELL PLAYED ! (even I'm not srilankan but i love fair cricket)

At my view luck always involve in good performances. Like drop catch. so if Srilanke bats in low light then Aussies, its a luck factor that Aus. win the toss and elected to field first. And filed first always a brave decision and even in the Final match of the world cup. And On that final match day the aussies are more stronger and motivated team then Sri. (My View)

i think srilanka played very well in all world cup...but bad luck in final bcz weather is very bad for chasing team...if weather was good ....so i m confident that srilanka win the world cup.
