A broken blood vessel can occur during strenuous activity. Sometimes, just sneezing can cause the vessel to break. People with a bad respiratory cold, will find themselves with a broken vessel due to the strain of coughing. I would suggest keeping your appointment. Only to rule out any kind of problem visually or medically that caused the break to begin with. We don't know what caused the vessel to break, so if its an on going problem, best to be seen by physician. All the best.

I got one once. Hurt like crud, and it looked like I was crying out of one eye. LOL. Should go away on it's own, but if it does something abnormal like seriously impairs your vision, or the redness gets a lot worse, then you might want to see the doctor.
