There is a complete guide on how to handle the pages. Basically, use some sort of adhesive (I use PVA). The guide above is sort of tricky, so you may want to use a more impler one.. http://www.dartmouth.edu/~preserve/repair/html/introduction.htm is great.
If you want to have a book that is fixed with a few bumps and can come loose easily, use a hot glue gun. It works ok if your repairing an old book that isn't that special or of value to you.
Good luck!

Open the book to the page you are going to repair. Place waxed paper underneath the page to protect the underlying pages. Use an ordinary glue stick to adhere page

You could go to a book binding place and just explain your problem. People are great and always willing to help.I used to work at one and really, I think the "school glue" is about the same thing. We had a hot type glue though. Good luck.

You can use a regular hot glue gun to do this. I have fixed many books using this method.
