To ans. your question in a simpler way (1-4)
Alcohol has been around, in various forms, longer then any of the other vices. Drugs and then tobacco came on the scene in that order. I am talking in hundreds of years here.
As the world's population has expanded the use of these vices has also increased.
Q.5 is a combo of all 4 ans.
All 3 items are drugs but tobacco & alchol are the lesser of the 3.
Campaigns of this sort never really work ,especially in this day and age-government taking away too much all the time and people rebel.
Tobacco is the lesser vice.
Sure there has been an increase-right along with the population. That has been true for everything.
Read your history- History DOES repeat its self.

1. - yes 2. - drug abuse 3. - drug abuse 4. - drug abuse 5. - A and B. 6. - drug abuse 7. - anti - drug - because I have had specialized training with college classes in this area. 8. smoking. can't have anything with alcohol because of medical condition and drug abuse generally involves use of illegal drugs. smoking regular tobacco is NOT YET against the law. 9. yes just pay attention to how widespread these habits are today than when we were growing up. I went to a small country school and we never heard of illegal drugs being used until we went to a nearby bigger city. there were some who drank a little but were not predominant.

Surveys are a pain...There are so many people asking for opinions on one thing or another.
Basically, the kind of young person who would drink and smoke and take drugs have always been around. It's just that today, most don't care who knows what they are doing.
