It can be tough to keep live plants in a tank - they try to grow through the screen at the top, or bent over.

I've got a rough green (beautiful snakes, but they don't like a lot of handling) that I have in a 20 gallon. I have the tank set up with coconut fiber for substrate, a water bowl big enough to soak in, some flat slate so the water doesn't get the coconut fiber too wet (and so the snake doesn't track it into the water). They like to climb, so I have a lot of branches collected from around my yard and cleaned. I found some "bunches" of silk plants at a local dollar store, and put in a few half-logs as hidinf spots.

One of the easiest things you can try if you want a live plant is pothos - it's a large-leaved ivy that looks like a philodendron, and you can train it to grow up over branches so your snale gets lots of cover. One plant will fill the entire tank, and you may have to pich it back to keep it from overgrowing. The reason I like this one is tha if the crickets or insetcs you use for foos aren't eaten right away, they can nibble on the leaves without any problems to themselves or your snake (the leaves do contain oxalic acid, but if other food is offered to the crickets, they won't eat enough of the leaves to cause a problem with calcium absorption).

You might want to try seeds for one of the plants listed in the websire balow as well.

Enjoy your snake!
