When my enemy gets emboldened, he starts yammering on and on about WMD and mushroom clouds.
Then he destroys some poor country really far away..

Well it doesn't give them superpowers and our soldiers can still kill them. What is does is give them hope that if they continue the fight we will quit. In the end that's how wars are won and lost. One side is either destroyed or quits. If we quit this fight it isn't over till we surrender or die. The terrorist will continue to fight. Emboldened means they keep coming after us.
Emboldened discribes Osama after we we "redeployed" out of Somalia so his next move was to make the WTC attack.
No it doesn't give them super powers. But it does keep them continuing to kill our servicemen instead of giving up because they know they cannot defeat our troops in battle. But they carry on because their allies "protest" the war and give them the hope that we will quit if they can just continue the fight.
I also don't see the value in the "better image" which is held by particularily the Europeans who aren't capable of even defending themselves. They have been of little use in the fight against terrorist in Afghanistan. They lack the logistically capacity and the will to fight to deliver more than a meager handful of troops into Afghanistan.
Finally, presidents don't lose wars, nations do. We can't afford to lose this one. Who cares about Bush he is going to be out of office next year.

America's enemies actually believe they are in a war and they are fighting to win. Every time Harry or Nancy or Hanoi Jane says we are losing, the enemy actually believes them. Imagine two Al Qaida types in a cave somewhere in the middle east reading a newspaper. The one with the paper says "Hey look. There are Americans that call the US soldiers "war criminals" and they call us "freedom fighters". I can just see them grinning at each other in the dark. They can use what an American said to further justify killing innocent civilians and using their kids as bombs. The jihadists are NOT against this war.
I don't think you seriously believe there are people who want to kill you, or there are people actually protecting you.

For the 25 years prior to our invasions, the enemy continued to slaughter innocent people with pretty much impunity - "emboldened" probably isn't a strong enough word alone when you consider that this policy of inaction essentially culminated in the events of 9/11. The enemy was confident that this too would be met with the same indifference.
We cannot be foolish enough to return to these policies.

Its very apparent you never played a sport or ever really competed against anybody. The greatest asset one has in any engagement is confidence, why did Payton Manning finally win the Superbowl? He beat the Patriots in the playoffs now he could envision winning the whole thing. Once he got that monkey off of his back the world was beatable and the Bears never stood a chance. It is the psychology of winning. As you give the opposition the thought they could actually win that becomes their reality and a collective mindset can overcome great obstacles including the greatest military this world has ever seen. Meanwhile, you tell our kids over there that they are worthless, murdering losers and guess what becomes their reality. How about you and your ilk just stop supporting our troops, its support they don't need.

nicely, the terrific plan is for the Liberal Democrats to start performing and speaking like individuals. while they get on our liberal biased press and CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN and MSNBC our enemies pay attention them speaking approximately what a mistake we've made in Iraq. the only way you will get somebody to return confer with the scholars touching directly to the reality it to have a rebellion interior the U.S. and take decrease back the universal public faculties and universities that have been infiltrated by ability of the Liberal Democrats, Socialists, and Communists. in case you do no longer have faith me, study their college books, look at their assignments, etc. they're training the subsequent era of Socialists.

He gains resolve...he strives harder to beat his enemy and
more lives will be lost on the battlefield as well as in urban
areas where more innocent people get hurt or killed, for the enemy thinks if he holds on he will win the confrontation!
People did that during the Viet-Nam experience and caused
a bitter lesson to be taught...however, the lesson wasn't taught
well enough because they are doing it all over again! Shame-
full!

Every time a U.S. soldier is killed, Al Qaeda is emboldened.
Every time a civilian is accidently killed by U.S. forces, Al Qaeda is emboldened.
Every time a shiite is killed, Al Qaeda is emboldened.
Ever time Bush rattles his saber at Iran, Al Qaeda is emboldened.
Al Qaeda's dream is total chaos in the Middle East. A Muslim uprising against Mideast govts. by the people. Al Qaeda will take advantage of the chaos and attempt to establish Taliban style theocracies in each Arab country. Al Qaeda is desperately trying to provoke the U.S. into retaliating against more Arab countries. They'll be there to pick up the pieces.
Fortunately, most Arabs are aware of Al Qaeda's treachery and they're not rioting in the streets as Al Qaeda wants. Most Arabs may not be pleased with their govts. (who is?), but they definitely don't want Al Qaeda taking over.
Terrorism is the fire and U.S. militancy is fueling it.
