What I don't understand is why Kevin, Daniel, and Amber buried the money because I know they wanted it for themselves, and Amber had a whole wad of cash that Cane found (who was stupid enough to believe she could save several grand working at a clothing store). So why did they bury the money, especially in Katherine Chanceller's backyard?

they are going to hold on to it to make sure that the money that daniel spent isn't marked. then after they know the money isn't marked they will spend it. still stupid.

I wondered why they didnt just stash the cash and call the cops. Amber could have said that Plum faked any computer stuff on her and what ever it was It's still out there. As for the other two.... I don't know why they didnt put it in the safe at the coffee house or maybe rent a storage unit? or a bus/train/airport box. I think someone will notice the recently turned earth HELLO
Someone is going to come looking for that money.... mark my words.
I thought I saw a bundle drop in the kitchen at Kevin's too but then Maggie and Paul showed up I thought it would "show up" but not so I guess I was wrong. Cane is just playing Amber and her stupid lame lies.

Why indeed, and from the looks of the great answers, nobody else understands either !!!!! The story line is just Dumb, Dumb, and Dumber......and writers get paid the big bucks for witing this junk. It looked like they had to fill in some time on the show inbetween the time they found the body, the money, and got rid of the body. So let's now go bury the money. It makes no sense, has nothing to do with anything other than to have them all get caught when someone finds the buried money and we all watch Amber lie her way out of it.

They buried the money because then it wouldn't be traceable. If Kevin would have put it in the safe at the coffee house, cops could have found it there. Same with the Safety Deposit box or even a storage unit, they all have "names" attached to them. They couldn't leave it any one of their "places" because once they find out he was "Amber's cousin", "Kevin & Daniel's" roomate, they would be all over the premisis looking for whatever, and not just the cops, also whomevers money it is.
They should have split it in 3's right away and then each of them hide it on their own. I think the Chancellor garder will find it and bring it to Jill or Catherine... What a mistake, but like someone just said, It's a soap opera!

Amber is such a dumb blonde, and everybody else is following her. So naturally they do stupid stuff. The only one dumber than Amber is Cane. Has he had NO life experience? Has NO ONE ever lied to him? Lie, lie, lie from Amber and then Amber gets Daniel hooked on porn and now he's lying, too. And what does Amber get for her effort? A cushy spot in the Chancellor mansion. GRRRR!

I thought the same thing. Wouldn't Katherine's gardener notice the disturbed dirt (unless they buried it in a freshly dug flower bed--I didn't see exactly where they buried it). Kevin runs the coffee house, couldn't he hide it there? I have to agree with the others above, they are being pretty dumb. Daniel just keeps disappointing.

Probably to keep the mystery going or to keep them from splitting the money between the three of them. I think that after they bury the money, it's going to come up missing. Someone will probably come looking for the thief and the money, trace the money to Amber and on goes the story, more lies, more lies more lies.....

That's a soap for you! I kept thinking to myself, split up that money and run!!! It was a total joke that Cane didn't think something was up with that wad of money. (loved her little fantasy with her and Cane doin it with the money tho!)
But to get back to your question, I have NO idea why they buried it there of all places!

Why bury it where they had to watch out for a security guard at that, and because they are not thinking, but its a good story line they got going on.
