Yes Sir.

Yeah, the Rangers are doing horrible, but they would be worst off without Sosa. Currently he's the teams RBI leader and has come through in several clutch situations.

Also remember that the Rangers originally signed him to a minor league contract ($500,000) and he had to earn his way onto the team. He did so, and now he has to prove his worth everyday to stay on the team.

He doing so well, it wouldn't surprise me if they trade him to a contender. There must be some interest.

The Rangers got a steal in taking a gamble on Sammy Sosa. I think he's helping with all the press and getting more fans in the stands, so yes... he's a great investment!

(By the way, I hope the Rangers don't trade Mark Teixeira to the Yanks for anything less than Phil Hughes. He'll be a good pitcher, but you need someone proven in trade!

Sammy Sosa has been one of the few pleasant surprises of the season for the Rangers. He has provided some much needed power, a veteran presence, and a "gung-ho" attitude to the team. I think the Rangers have gotten more than they thought they would from him and may reap the added benefit by using him as potential trade-bait before the trade deadline.

He's good for putting fans in the seats... Other than that, not really. The Rangers aren't in the playoff hunt this year and probably won't until they get good pitching and trade some big names, they cost too much. Millwood and Padilla are paid way too much for what they don't do. And we hardly ever use Gagne.
But Sosa is a good draw for fans, proved by his pursuit for his 600th home run. Yeah, a lot of the fans there were Cubs fans, but they still wanted to see if Sosa could still reach that milestone.

The best thing Sosa can do for the Rangers is bring some young talent in a trade later this season.

Yes and no. Sammy Sosa is a great hitter, but at the time, what the Rangers really need is pitching. Their ace, Millwood, is having a terrible year, and ever since they lost Kenny Rogers, it's been down hill.

Sosa could be great trade bait since he's so "historical." Since he's old, the Rangers might not want him, but could get a lot out of him.

No, because he doesn't put butts in the seats and he definitely doesn't help his team win, nor did he ever care about anything besides jacking home runs. He and his good buddy Mark McGwire can kiss my a**, as they are a big part (along with the idiot fans that cheered them on) of what's wrong with baseball today. These two jokers played for one reason only: to hit home runs. They didn't play defense, they didn't run the bases, and they didn't do any situational hitting. Because America went bonkers over these clowns, dozens (maybe hundreds?) of players 'roided up to give the public what they wanted--home runs. Now you see a bunch of players that look like linebackers instead of ballplayers.

U know I think he has really done us good but I think we need to use him for a trade to get some pitchers cause were not catching the Angels and we need to build our pitching for next year. I really like Sammy though.

I dont think so.
I am surprised his fat head (ego) can squeeze through the clubhouse door.

We all know the only reason he came back was to get 600 HR's; no matter what he says.
