No it isn't and you will meet your father. And if you don't god may never wanted you to meet him. Everything happens for a reason. But think of it this way if your parents are divorced don't you think you might not want to meet your father. He may not be a friendly guy.

How could you not feel envy in this situation? Totally normal. The thing is to make sure you don't punish your friend for having what you do not. Your friend probably envies someone who's parents are not divorced, and someone probably envies the fact that you get to live with you own mother. Nothing in life is totally fair or equal. Our job is to bring our best selves to the game and play the hand dealt the best we can.

It's never OK to envy, but it's mighty hard not to on occasion. You sound upset about your father and jealous of your friend because her situation seems less "stressful" than yours. My advice to you is not to let your father go if you can help it. Keep in touch with him via email, telephone or snail mail. Internet searches can provide addresses for anyone if you don't have his. Believe me when I say, parents who divorce are often bitter at each other for a while, but tend to calm down when some time passes. I am divorced myself and speak from experience when I say, "Time is a great healer and if you and your father care for each other, you will find a way to stay in touch."
