I am looking for a good drum kit. I want something like a 7 piece. Also I am new to drumming and would like to get into it, any ideas would be good. And I am looking to spend about $200-$350.

You will be hard pressed to get a 7-piece drum set (typically meaning 7 drums plus cymbals) for less than $350.

If your just getting into it and $350 is the most you can spend, you should probably look for something used or look into an entry-level kit. Many excellent drum makers have entry-level sets that are close to your price range. They are usually only 5 piece sets, but they often come with the hardware you need and sometimes cymbals too.

There is no way that you can get a 7 piece- even used, for under $350; and guess what, you don't need it. Start out with an entry level four or five piece kit, and some decent cymbals. If you are playing for a few years, and are still interested, you may want to start saving up for a higher end kit, with which you may want an extra drum or two.

If you want to get into double bass, just buy a double pedal rather than two bass drums. This will save you money, and be more efficient if you start playing shows.

With good heads and decent tuning skills, you can get just about any drum to sound good, but what you can't tune are cymbals. You may want to start out investing in some nice cymbals that will sound nice, and that you can use with your beginning kit, and keep when(or if) you decide to upgrade your drums.

Be warned: drumming is an expensive hobby, so be prepared to drop about $800 on a decent beginner kit, cymbals, and hardware. Plus, every few months you will want to change your heads as they wear out; and you are always breaking sticks, so be prepared to replace those.

I hope that was the info you were looking for, and not to boring of a read.

Happy Drumming!

I spent $500 on my 5 piece and the cymbals. Stick with a 5 piece for now. There is no need for a 7 piece, 5 piece will do it all for you. Ludwig Accent's are pretty cheap and nice, that's what I have
