Hey i don't know where you got this ideal but it does not equate to anything with me and I'm pure bred American. And no we do not confuse war with anything. Some times we are lied to and lured into war, but we do not consider war to be entertaining like some of the foreign countries do.

Because if patriotism is "good"- then fighting a war for a "just cause" must be good -too. The problem is; football games have clean "ends" & someone wins. Wars SELDOM end cleanly- and too often everyone loses. In our current situation in Iraq, the american people don't understand why we're not "winning", or why the "game" isn't ending! In other words, we don't have a "clue" of what we've gotten ourselves into. So much for the spirit of "Patriotism"! :)

Patriotism does not equal love of war. In the US, people are reluctant to go to war because life is better in peace time. However, patriotic Americans usually become willing to fight when they believe it is needed for the well-being of their country and loved ones.

Virtually nobody "loves" war, it is a vial and horrible thing. That does NOT mean it isn't sometimes necessary.
Those people who equate being against "this" war and being "un-American" are dim-wits.... (I do support this war, having spent time in Iraq both before and after I have an insight CNN and NBC don't want you to see.)
That said rational and intelligent people can disagree without EITHER of them being anti-American or hatemongers or any other vestige unintelligent people like to hurl at one another.

I'm sure you can not understand, but 6 years ago we were bombed. They used our airplanes to hit our building and kill our people in our cities. Only 3 thousand died, instead of the intended 50,000 that would have been at about 10:30 am. So we are fighting back. When people put their lives on the line to protect you, it is a good ideal to support them.

get it straight no one likes war, but sometimes its neccessary and dont give me the bs its not, peace cant solve everything hey its never worked b4, we could all wish 4 peace but there are people out there that wont hear of it. and patriotism to americans are standing by ur country and its decisions, its not all about war. but dnt stress we have tons of americans that are 2 selfish 2 care about their own country. so in the future dont ask a question till u got ur Facts straight.

No. You're interpreting the ravings of a few right-wing flag-wrapped zealots.

Americans make consumer purchases, not war.

Inherently as Americans the strongest belief we have is that of freedom. We will fight to defend our freedom because freedom is not free.
