It's gateway drug: Actually, there is no evidence that Marijuana is a gateway drug. It's simply the easiest and most affordable drug to get. Research has not shown that the majority of those who smoke dope move on the bigger/harder drugs.
If it were legal/decriminalized EVERYONE would be on dope: This is probably the most stupid arguement to have. Making something legal does not cause people to do buy/use things. Like when women were were given the right to walk around topless in my town... I haven't seen any woman topless. But it's legal!
It causes brain damage/cell damage : No proof of this. We have THC receptors in our brain. Instead of destroying these cells, it simply alters them.
Makes you lose your memory : Only short term while you are high.
Everyone who tokes is a loser : No, the losers who toke were losers BEFORE pot.
To overdose on marijuana, you have to smoke your body weight. You'd pass out long before you could even try. 0 deaths caused by Marijuana alone.

LLLY, By your answer's punctuation, am I one to assume you are uneducated?
Da Phantom, fair enough. However, people will smoke it regardless... the smoke is already filling the air.

"It does cause brain damage. I have seen the effects of this in my relations. It does cause memory loss also."
Could you point me in the right direction of the research that proves this? *not being a dick* However, research has shown it does NOT cause brain damage. It has the tendency to bring out certain aspects of a personality, however that depends on the person smoking. If they are depressed to begin with, they will become more depressed. If they have bi-polar disease before smoking, they will be bi-polar after (for example).
Also, research shows that it does not affect long term memory. Simply short-term memory usually during the time you have smoked and directly after.

I am not against it. Hashish is legal as well as pot in alot of euro contries, and they dont have nearly as many people locked up as our "free" country. Or for that matter half as many "Druggies". Or the Societal problems such as we do here in the land of the "free".

Your counter arguments, while being informative to new posters don't reach the original poster because their mind is set against having others be high around their children. In Nevada a bill to tax the sale was recently voted down because the religous wrong still imagine their children as being perfect angels. The truth is that most of the children use crack because it washes out of ones body in hours, unlike Marijuana which takes a month. I personnal don't use it because I don't like the confusion it starts out and ends with and while it increases my appreciation of music I already like music.

Most of what you say is fairly true. But your wrong in a couple of aspects. It does cause brain damage. I have seen the effects of this in my relations. It does cause memory loss also.If it alters your brain cells, then it would be for the worse, not better. What MJ does do is lessen pain, and works very well in come illnesses. I have smoked on occasions. It made me happy. But I have been with those who became depressed also. For preference I hope it never gets decriminalised in my country. If all you Pot-heads think it's Ok- fine.I doubt I'd convince you otherwise.

As a none smoker (of any kind) I hate anything that kind give off second hand smoke. If they make it legal I'll have to sit next to people smoking it and it'll effect me.
Drinking only gets the drinker drunk and unless they drive while impaired then its nothing to me. But smoking...well...that can get to me.
Just my opinion.

Good, decent, Christian people do coke, like George Bush. Jesus cries when you take a toke...
Don't you see, Satan wants you to be calm and relaxed because it's a very un-Christian way to be. Coke gets you pumped and keeps you ready to fight for your faith. All the rich, decent people do coke and Jesus loves them for it.
