Bush vows permanent ban on future illegal migrants
President George W. Bush promised Saturday to permanently bar future illegal immigrants from the United States as he renewed his push for immigration reform, a centerpiece of his domestic agenda.
"Under this bill, those caught crossing illegally will be permanently barred from returning to the United States on a work or tourist visa," the president stated.
He went on to assure Americans the new bill puts border enforcement first.
How does Bush think he will accomplish that when they cannot be stopped now?

Of course it is BS. Bush is an elitist, and he only cares about the interests of the big businesses that want, and invite the illegals here so that they can exploit the cheap labor! These big business interests are the real criminals, and Bush will not defy them, because he is beholden to them, and cares nothing for the good of this country or its people. The only way to really solve the illegal problem is to penalize these big companies! *sm*

Bush has never taken a stand on enforcing border laws. He wants the voting bloc that latinos (many of them illegal) provide. Thus don't anger them by keeping Rico and Rosita from joining their family in the U.S.

I think that if each American wants to volunteer to stop illegals from entering the country, then there should be a bill enacted for that. It can give us one year free of having any taxes taken out of our pay, and giving us free health care. Any illegals found on this land should be made to work to pay for our free care. Any children born here from illegals should be sent to Mexico and placed in foster care there until their parents have worked off the money it will cost for us to have to ship them back.
Now thats an immigration bill if I've ever heard of one.
In the meantime, stop blaming one individual being pushed around by a large corrupt congress (I refuse to capitalize that word) and the house of reps.

I like the idea of border enforcement first and a ban on illegal immigrants. if he gets rid of the amnesty portion it will equal the laws already on the books that we should be enforcing now!

It CAN be stopped. First, we have to allow our local law enforcement to uphold the laws. If they are dealing with a known illegal immigrant for something like a traffic violation, they're only allowed to address the traffic violation and not the FEDERAL LAW governing immigration and naturalization.
So, what do I think of President Bush's reform bill? I think it was sent to the appropriate round file. He's pandering to the left and the illegals and reducing the number of work visas allowed to those who are trying to come in legally to work. It's bad for business and it's bad for America.

Total BS, that is why so many are against this bill. They say don't worry, we will stop illegal imigration but give no money for the fence, no money for more agents, no money for enforcement (but will give amnesty to drug dealers to put police away), etc... They have no intention of stopping the problem. On this issue the government plainly doesn't care and are going out of their way to prove it.

I am a retired Police Officer from the Ca. Az. Mexico border. He better get down there and tell them then. I turned illegals over to the Border Patrol everyday. The estimates are that over 4000 thousand cross our borders everyday.

no,he is lying again.
edit. i have a plan. a heavy penalty for employers that hire illegals, not a slap on the wrist. Another part of the plan, take control of our government away from corporations and lobbyists. it is supposed to be OUR government. i realize none of this will happen because most Americans would rather fight each other

I don't think it is a bill that should be taken too seriously.... It is designed to make you feel good but has no substance. As far as stopping anyone from comming here, you know as well as all of us, that will never happen....

He will wave his magic wand to stop the immigrants from pouring into our country. Just like he is winning the war with his stellar leadership and foreign policy.
