There are few jokes that can be out of line. Only few comedians are willing and are able (from the audience) to pull off saying racist jokes. My question is one particular racist joke: Asian people can't drive. Where did that come from?? other question(s): how is that understandable? Is it funny? (im asian and i think it is funny). Is there room to have racist jokes? How do you think it influences our society?

A lot of my friends who aren't asian hate the joke. Mainly becuase they are into sports cars and they like to race their hondas around town. How about those asian movies like Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift.

I don't think that's a racist statement, but, it wasn't that funny either. I live Asian, one of my good friend is Asian, and he laughs at jokes that is about his peoples, I laugh at jokes that is about my peoples,it's all how you take it....

Yes but only from black people, because if a white person says ANYTHING racist, then everyone gets upset, but if a black person says the same thing then they are the funniest comedian alive. Explain that to me. People need to get sense of humors...Its nothing personal

It's not a joke-it's true. Asian people for the most part are terrible drivers, at least by where I live. VERY slow and even use their turn signal in our parking garage...when you go only go one way.
I find nothing wrong with ethnic jokes, even if they are against me, because most of them are based on fact. there is a fine line between joke and slur.

my dad also says that asian ppl can't drive and i hate when he says that because many of my friends r asian and i find it insulting to them. and y'know i've noticed that some asian ppl do drive slower than others......but that does NOT mean that they dont know how 2 drive!

I think they are funny, but people need to prove their superoirty by acting insulted and preaching to us how insensitive we are and that we are lesser people that those who are "more enlightened" that we who have a sense of humor and can laugh about our differences.
