getting a professional bra fitting is the best thing a woman can do for herself.
Be careful though if having it done at a store, they are sales people and most likely you will wind up paying more for a bra than you have to. Go to a tailor or seamstress for the fitting, or have it done through a non-profit organization like the breast cancer foundation.
If you do not want to go to have it done take a look at this website and then head out to the store to try on. http://www.herroom.com/bra-fitting-finding-your-bra-size,203,30.html
Different styles and manufactures fit very differently, try on all of your bras and make sure they work for you.

If your Bra, rides up at the back, slips off your shoulders, if your girls bulge out any where, if the wire bends forward or pokes out away from your chest then the cup is too small,or if the cup looks like a deflated balloon then you are wearing the wrong size.
The biggest mistake most girls make is too large in the underbust size and too small in the cup size. Measure under your bust, to get your rib size in inches, then measure around the fullest part of your breast, if the difference is 2 inches your an A cup, 4 inches, a B cup, 6 inches a C cup, and so on, this is a rough estimate but it is better to get a bra a little to big and pad it than get one too small and bulge every where.
The correct fitting bra should feel comfortable, the cup should contain all your breast tissue, with nothing bulging, the wires should sit flat on your chest wall without digging in, the straps should not slip off your shoulders, and should not ride up at the back. You may have to ty on many different styles to get the right one, but you will be happy when you do.
It's also a good idea to get a proper fitting by a speciallist just once.

It is probably near 100% except for professional fitters. I haven't found anyone at Victoria's Secret that is an expert, but the ladies at Nordstrom's, Dillard's, Macy's and specialty bra shops will teach you the proper way to put on a bra, and measure you for one that supports and flatters. I was wearing one that was 3 sizes too big in the band.

Yes it does. It can affect the shape and how fast your breast grow. I used to wear the wrong size and was always like why am I so small? But when I started working at a bra shop I got measured and discorvered my real bra size and they actually began to grow. It was awesome. I'd say get measured for one. :D

go to a higher end department store or lingerie store. Nordstroms is my fave. And today I remembered why. WAs there buying some PJs and I over heard one of their sales people talking to a customer about proper fit. And it just made me remember why Nordstroms rocks. She not only brought the bra the lady wanted, but she told her how it was supposed to fit, what adjustments had to be made. And even told her if one wasn't fitting properly and why.
They are so knowledgeable there.
Get fitted whenever you feel you need to. I go about once every other year, or if I have a dramatic weight loss or gain.

You can go to a higher end department store or specialty bra shop and have them fit you for a bra. I have been told that stores like Macy's and Dillard's offer this service occasionally.
I have friend who went to one of these stores when this was being offered. She was very satisfied with the results.

go into victorias secret, they do free sizing. even if you dont plan on buying a bra there (because they can be expensive)...go on in and find out what size you are, that way you can go to any department store and look for that size..good luck!

You can go to Victoria's Secret and they have employees that will measure you for free and determine your bra size.
Or, you can do it yourself.
