I have put the WAMP server online, but i don't know how to access it through the internet. When I type 'localhost', it works fine. But when I type my IP address it won't open. Can you give me some advise?

I have a rooter, and I'm connecting to the internet through wireless.
I opened my port (4444) and got my IP (211.217.207.12) from www.cmyip.com.
So, what should I do now?

When you say IP address do you mean local or internet?

Local Host and local IP should both work. If you mean Internet IP there are several things

Is your server connected to a router or direct to the internet? If you have a router, you will have to port forward the ports needed on the router or it wont be reachable from the internet. (you also need to check with your ISP if operating servers is within "terms of use" its not in many cases)

If you are connected directly and it doesn't work you will need to check with your ISP to see if any servers are allowed.

Well, you can install the WAMP server on your computer (Windows Apache MySQL PHP server). Then go ahead and set up phpbb in the appropriate directories according to the instructions. As long as you are not opening up port 80 to the outside world, you can test till your heart's content.

Some great server software that I just set up a server with yesterday is Serv-U from Rhinosoft. I would recommend using that. You need to make sure your are typin your LAN IP, not your WAN IP.
