I cant think of a war that wasn't started over religion, maybe its time to ban religion instead of smoking drinking and over weight people. As for the ratio of deaths in war compared to natural cause's i have no idea, but I'm sure the odds are more in favour of deaths due to wars.

Everyone who ever lived died from natural causes with the exceptions being those who died in accidents, animal attacks and people killing people. The natural causes far outnumber those from people killing people. There were also many wars which had no religious backing and were for political reasons or for pure greed.

You Leftist aetheists try to make religion the scapegoat, when it is seldom the cause of war, just used to justify it..

If you're looking to indict religion as a cause of violence and death, you'll have to look for different statistics.

If you add up all "deaths by violence" subtract out those that weren't caused by war, and then subtract out those that weren't caused by a war-of-religion and compared those to the total numbers of people who died of natural causes, the percentage would near to zero.

Imagine all the cancer deaths, all other kinds of disease deaths, old-age deaths, accidental deaths, and so on all through history. 99% or more of all deaths Have to be of 'non-war-of-religion' based causes...

Wars are not fought over religion. They are fought over resources. Religion is used to justify war.

For example, if the mideast did not have oil, a commodity we need for our continued prosperity, would we be in Iraq? Would thier be a war on terrorism. Al queda says they fight us to get us out of muslim lands...(I dont agree with this by the way, its what they say) but whatever, why are we there, they have something we want. I mean is Osama was so disgusted with the west, why didnt he reject US money. Yeah his father was in construction but oil money, the wests money paid for the war. He uses religion as a justification for criminal activity. Its not the REASON he does what he does.,

Religion is just a justification for war, not the reason for it. War is about resources.

No one dies of natural causes anymore don't you know. And religion is not the cause of war but rather it is used to bolster moral and recruit cannon fodder during hostilities or at the start of hostilities. For example try to name one war caused by religion.

Every war ever fought has had some religious undertone supporting it. And as far a death by natural causes - well arguably God is all over that one too. Wow, that really sucks huh?

More people have died in the name of religion ,and or God, than in all the wars put together!
And of course more have died of natural causes, and or natural disasters!
