Oh, yes, you MUST see 1408 immediately! Don't wait for the DVD! You need to see this on the big screen first and then, yeah, buy the DVD when it comes out because you're going to want to see this again and again!
I love scary movies and I loved it. It was unpredictable, suspenseful and very original. I hadn't read the story but I hear even people who read the Stephen King story it was based on were in suspense waiting to see how much Hollywood changed the written story.
A great date film, too. However, I recommend you see it ALONE first then, when you take her, it's the 2nd time you've seen it so you can seem all brave and cool when the scary stuff is going on.
I really like the movie. It's not gory. Some movies depend on blood and guts and gore to get an emotional reaction from the audience. No, not 1408! It scared you with the unknown, the wondering what would happen next but it wasn't gross. But, definitely, a psychological thriller. I was gasping at parts! I mean, you could almost see people in the audience leaning forward in their seats eager to see what was going to happen next!
John Cusack and Samuel L.Jackson gave excellent performances! And the things that happened, well, at first you're wondering if it's coincidence or truly something evil then things escalate and you're just breathless wondering what's coming next.
I loved it and am recommending it to everyone. One of the best scary movies that I've ever seen!

The critics are giving rave reviews and I have not heard anything bad about this movie what so ever. One guy on here said he saw it twice. I have not seen it but I am planning on it. I love Stephen King books and movies. This movie is going to be a must see! I think this movie is worth the ticket price.

just got back from seeing it--i still have my GF's fingernail marks in my arm!!!
i liked it (so did the audience) though i wanted a little more. there are a few scares and some interesting stuff going on that really keep your attention. Cusack is good (as usual) and the scene with him and Jackson is really good. it was nice seeing two actors "hold their own" against one another acting-wise.
i recommend it--not as much as i thought i was going to, but i do recommend it.

See it! I saw it yesterday at the first showing and it is absolutely spectacular! Buy the DVD too. I'm sure there will be plenty of extras (I love extras).
