Honestly, as good as it was, I wouldn't call it one of the best 100 ever. Granted, I have some issues with that list, but I still feel like Scarface is amazingly overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's excellent, but there are better without a doubt.

personally, i would never rely on the AFI to pick MY top 100 movies--their list is just that; THEIR list.
what would be interesting (and someone will probably do this eventually if they haven't) is if we the people voted on a top 100, not the Institute. for instance, i'm not an award show person, but i have usually agreed with People's Choice Awards more than the Academy Awards. i'm always more interested in what us "real" folks think rather than those in a rather elite Institute (not that they are not "real" people, but their take on films is many times not the same as us regular folk).
and, yes, Scarface would have made my list too.
