Crazy - Affected with madness; insane. Informal departing from proportion or moderation, especially: possessed by enthusiasm or excitement (the crowd went crazy); immoderately fond, infatuated (crazy about boys); intensely involved or preoccupied (crazy about cars and racing); foolish or impractical, senseless (a crazy scheme for making quick money). These are all definitions of crazy. To which were you referring? It is presumptious to suggest that people (which might imply everyone) are crazy. And there are varying degrees of crazy. What one person may consider crazy, another might simply consider eccentric (deviating from an established or usual pattern or style; deviating from conventional or accepted usage or conduct especially in odd or whimsical ways). As to why people appear crazy...well there are as many reasons as there are people in the world.

It's due to their state of (un) consciousness. Because they're relatively so unaware of what being human is all about, they live in an almost constant state of fear and confusion. This translates into unskillful and dysfunctional behavior almost all the time.
Thus it's critically important to discover what being human means via traditional practices such as meditation and research/study of numerous kinds--reading, etc. Ordinary religion is of minimal help, since it never really addresses the basic problems: the unfocussed mind, and never being in the present moment being a major one.
Undertake the practices of meditation, yoga, stress reduction studies, internal energy balance techniques, etc. and the changes are relatively fast and beneficial. You will never understand the difference they make until you feel it for yourself. They make "all the difference" :))

Have you looked around in the world we live in? Men killing their pregnant girlfriends, Teen celebrates drinking and driving, and lets not forget the stupid war our President has us in. It's a miracle we're not ALL CRAZY!!!!

why do you think!?!?! we have a sinful world now!! smoking, drugs, sex at early ages...stuff like that is dirtying up our once perfect world...but that was a LONG, LONG, LONG time ago.
this stupid war we're in is causing so many deaths and crap, (thanks a lot BUSH!!!), a pregnant girl's bf killing her and so many other things are what's making people crazy!!
